On behalf of the Center’s administrator, director and our staff, welcome to Azusa Discovery Center Preschool and School Age, Inc. Azusa Discovery Center has earned a reputation as a local leader in the industry and community. Azusa Discovery Center Preschool and School Age, Inc. has been operating in the City of Azusa for thirty-eight years and during that time, we have served thousands of children, and we continue to serve children and the children of those who attended the program many years ago. Our program has become a staple in the c community where we honor and trust children, engage families and inspire educators to create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment where our students can thrive and acquire the foundations of social, emotional, and academic strengths as we prepare our students for success when they leave our program to go to kindergarten and beyond. Throughout the years, we have gained and implemented through our experience in early childhood education, to commit to foster relationships and take on the role of leadership in our community as we serve as a model of innovative, and reflective early childhood education practices. Our Center commits to transparent and responsible organizational practices. Our Center also commits to transparent and responsible organizational practices that uphold our mission and vision for our school. As the leading childcare Center in the City of Azusa, we provide personalized childcare focused on safety, and nurturing the unique identities and personalities of our children and their families. We take pride in providing a welcoming and child-friendly environment that involves all members of the community and beyond. As we continue to proudly serve a diverse group of families, we have also continued to provide an inclusive and safe environment for children’s development and work diligently to introduce them to a play-based environment that allows children to learn through discovery and experimentation. Our staff, trained in early childhood development, oversee children’s play to encourage enquiry and extend learning through the child’s inquisitiveness. We have also taken on the opportunity to work with parents with workshops specifically designed to our parents needs such as healthy eating, positive discipline, childhood trauma, mental and emotional wellness kindergarten readiness, and any topic we feel our parents can benefit from.
Through partnerships with local funding agencies such as Options, Pomona Unified School District, Cal Works Stage 1 and Stage 2, and California State Preschool, we have been able to support parents and provide enriching experiences for children and their families. We further gained experience contracting with Los Angeles Universal Preschool in 2006 and maintained our contract until we were transitioned to QSLA. Our LAUP contract enabled our Program to reach families that might not have otherwise had the opportunity to access quality childcare/preschool. We are a continuum of support for children 2 years to 5 years and families. In 2016, we acquired the California State Preschool Program, (CSPP). With this contract, our Program was able to expand to serve more preschoolers and their families. Contracting with CSPP, our Program was able to intentionally strengthen and support early childhood education that we find essential for the growth of future members our communities.
